Opening Ceremony and

Championship Ladies Short Program

The Opening Ceremony will feature 80 local skaters showcasing the history of figure skating in Minnesota.  This not to be missed event is choreographed by Minnesota native Rohene Ward, who will also skate in the ceremony.  Plus, skating legend Richard 'Mr. Debonair" Dwyer and his Dwyer Girls will be part of the show.

The Smucker's Skating Spectacular offers fans the opportunity to see all the champions and medalists for the week's competition let loose in a fun, theatrical ice show that's free of the scrutiny of the judges and competition rules. Skaters from the novice to championship level will perform for the audience for the sheer love of skating.

Plus - Ashley Wagner will skate to a LIVE performance from the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus!

The Smucker's Skating Spectacular is on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m

Professional figure skating coaches will be on hand to help you learn some new moves or brush up on your basics. Free and open to the public. Rental skates available for a minimal charge.

October 15 marked 100 Days until the Opening Ceremony of the 2016


Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman was joined by area figure skaters from Twin City Figure Skating Association at a celebration event on October 15 to mark 100 Days until the Opening Ceremony. Festivities included the unveiling of a 9-foot-tall inflatable figure skate and the launch of dedicated social media sites for the event.
